Health & Safety

An injury-free workplace is our 24/7 goal.

At MAPP, we believe that any job worth doing must be done safely—without exception. Our complete commitment to zero injuries or incidents extends from MAPP employees to our entire team of trade partners, suppliers and vendors. In fact, all project participants must embrace the concept of team performance and personal accountability before being allowed to participate in the construction process.

Proven safety record through the years

Our safety program compels us to:

  • Implement best practices and a site-specific safety plan on every jobsite;
  • Ensure that all team members are properly trained (including first aid and CPR) and equipped to perform their duties;
  • Maintain a current and comprehensive written Safety Policies Manual; and
  • Gain a continuous commitment to our safety goals and objectives from each and every team member.

Prior to beginning work, all employees are encouraged to proactively manage their work through daily safety pre-planning. And every MAPP employee is authorized to stop any unsafe activity and initiate corrective action for any unsafe condition. Our policy also strictly prohibits illegal drugs, alcohol or any other substance that could impair, affect or alter an employee’s ability to perform his or her work safely. Failure to pass a drug screening results in immediate termination.

As the company has matured, our safety policies and program have evolved, constantly reflecting the lessons we learn, from offices to jobsites. As proponents of a performance-driven construction safety management model, we rely on frequent, accurate measurement to help us gauge our performance and adjust our safety program and workplace procedures as needed. We and many of our clients use these safety auditing services:

  • ISNetworld
  • PICS Auditing Services/Avetta
  • Browz Inc.
  • Houston Area Safety Council (X-NET)
  • PEC Premier

We’re extremely pleased that our recent safety performance has earned MAPP a number of awards. Our recent honors include:

  • Associated Builders and Contractors STEP (Safety Training and Evaluation Process) Awards – Platinum (2008-2011), Gold (2007, 2012-2013, 2019), Silver (2006)
  • 2010 Shell Contractor Safety Recognition Award
  • 2009 Greater Baton Rouge Industry Alliance Contractor Safety Excellence Award of Recognition (Small Manufacturing and Industrial Building Construction and Maintenance General Contractors category)

Thanks to a team that understands the critical importance of safety, it has become more than just our number one priority—it’s a way of life.
