Along the banks of the Chattahoochee River, Riverside Park has been a gathering place for the Roswell community for more than two decades, welcoming families, outdoor recreation, and signature events. The next chapter for the park is now underway, and MAPP is proud to be part of it. City Council, city leadership, and project partners gathered at the park to mark the start of construction, celebrating the collaboration it took to bring the project to this point.
The renovation is funded through Roswell's voter-approved 2022 Recreation & Parks Bond and represents a major investment in the city's River Parks Master Plan. It will enhance the 21-acre park with updated recreation spaces, improved accessibility, enhanced event areas, and key infrastructure upgrades to support the more than 130,000 visitors who enjoy the park each year. Planned improvements include ADA-accessible restrooms, a new open-air pavilion, an upgraded stage and event infrastructure, a nature-inspired playground, a free-to-use sprayground, improved connectivity and parking circulation, and stormwater enhancements. As part of Roswell's broader vision for a connected system of riverfront parks, these improvements will help Riverside Park continue to grow as a destination for the community.
"This project reflects our community's shared vision for investing in places that bring people together," said Mayor Pro Tem Sarah Beeson during the ceremony. Riverside Park has long hosted concerts, festivals, and everyday recreation for Roswell residents, and the renovation is designed to keep it serving that role for generations to come.
Working alongside the City of Roswell, Georgia and Starr Whitehouse Landscape Architects and Planners, MAPP is excited to help shape what's next for Riverside Park. We're proud to serve as general contractor on a project that will keep this Chattahoochee River landmark thriving for the Roswell community.
