MAPP Donates $200,000 to Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital

Mar 13, 2019

MAPP committed $200,000 to help build outdoor playhouses for children at Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital, funding a feature designed to bring a little extra joy to the hospital's outdoor garden space. Since 2013, MAPP has hosted an annual golf tournament benefiting the Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital, and this year's proceeds were dedicated entirely to the playhouses.

Our Lady of the Lake leadership shared that the freestanding children's hospital was designed from the ground up with kids at the center of every decision, and that the new playhouses would give patients and visiting siblings of all ages a fun, whimsical addition to the garden space. MAPP CEO Mike Polito said the hope is simple: that the playhouses bring smiles to the kids who use them, and that a little bit of play becomes part of their healing. Polito added that MAPP was looking forward to the hospital's grand opening later that fall, calling it an exciting new addition to the Baton Rouge community.

Representing MAPP at the check presentation were Theresa Serpas, Beau Wolfe, and Nick Mills, who presented the gift to Scott Wester, Danny Fields, and Jeff Mosley of Our Lady of the Lake. The donation reflects a partnership between MAPP and Our Lady of the Lake that has spanned years of fundraising, all in support of giving Baton Rouge's kids a hospital experience built with them in mind.
