MAPP delivered a new animal shelter for Plaquemines Parish, combining sustainable building systems with a durable, high-quality interior finish package.
MAPP partnered with Plaquemines Parish and the design team of Sizeler Thompson Brown to construct a new animal shelter for the parish. The project was designed to achieve LEED Silver Certification and utilized a post-tensioned concrete slab, autoclaved aerated concrete panels and blocks, fluid-applied membrane roofing, and a complete geothermal ground loop system. The finish package included stainless steel gutters and downspouts, FRP doors, steel operable windows, stained concrete floors, and an extensive epoxy flooring and wall covering package, giving the shelter a durable, high-quality finish throughout. The completed animal shelter gives Plaquemines Parish a sustainable, resilient facility built to serve the community's animal welfare needs for years to come.
