MAPP delivered the University Medical Center, a hospital campus located on 39.5 acres in the center of the New Orleans BioDistrict. The 560,000-square-foot, 424-bed hospital anchors a multi-component project that includes an adjoining 746,982-square-foot Diagnostic and Treatment Center, a 254,765-square-foot Ambulatory Care Building, a 546,413-square-foot, 1,346-car parking structure, and an 84,000-square-foot onsite Utility Building, along with associated site work and utilities.
These buildings are supported by approximately 4,900 precast piles with a total driven length approaching 500,000 linear feet. To meet an aggressive schedule, the project utilized four driving rigs operating simultaneously, with the pile driving operation supported by dedicated delivery trucks and four separate feeder cranes to achieve the ultimate efficiency in the field.
